The annual Nada Habba Dasara festival is set to begin in Mysuru, drawing visitors from around the world to partake in the nine-day celebration. The festivities commenced with a traditional puja at the Chamundeshwari Temple on Chamundi Hills, where writer Nadoja Hampa Nagarajaiah paid homage to the Goddess Chamundeshwari. The grand Vijayadashami procession will mark the culmination of the festival on October 12, starting from the Mysore Palace.

Nadoja Hampa Nagarajaiah, also known as Hampanna, shared his fond childhood memories of playing with dolls at home during the festival inauguration. He emphasized that Dasara showcases the cultural diversity of Karnataka and is cherished by all residents of the state.

Member of Parliament and scion of the Mysuru royal family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, conducted the annual private darbar at Mysore Palace, which will be held throughout the Navratri period.

Mysuru Dasara will feature various cultural events, including a special performance by Ilaiyaraaja and A R Rahman at Yuva Dasara for the first time in Mysuru. Other attractions include a food fair, flower exhibition, book fair, and a film festival dedicated to the memory of the late actor-filmmaker Dwarakish.
